Why Oakland is Cooler than SF: American Steel Studios - Open Studios This Weekend

Last week The San Francisco Bay Guardian ran an article on how Oakland is becoming cooler than San Francisco, largely because the high cost of housing is pushing the young and creative types out of the City. One of the focus pieces was about our neighbor American Steel Studios - a very cool local arts group working out of a warehouse just a few blocks from PCL. American Steel Studios is having an open studios show this weekend and next weekend that sounds very worth checking out. West Oakland is where a lot of the artists and small businesses are starting out because the cost of entry is really reasonable. Its why PCL has attracted so many creative types and small business professionals.
