A 360 degree Look at the Main PCL Coutryard

This image is made up of over 20 images stitched together. Shooting started at the center of the courtyard and went around 360 degrees. Starting at the ends of the courtyard resulted in two bumps....weird...huh?

2nd Annual Oakland Running Festival, Mar. 26th and Mar, 27th

March 26th: Oakland Tribune 5K 6:30 AM.

March 27th: Marathon and 4-Person Relay 7:30 AM; Half Marathon 9:00 AM; Kids Fun Run 8:30 AM.

There will be an Oakland Running Festival Press Luncheon for Race officials, city officials, sponsors held Thursday, March 24th, between 11 AM and 12:30 PM at the Waterfront Hotel (Spinnaker Room); followed by a free luncheon served at the hotel’s Miss Pearl Jam’s Restaurant immediately upon the conclusion of the press conference.

A Landscape Design Helps Revive the Industrial Past of West Oakland.

The March 2011 Landscape Architecture Magazine just published a big piece on the award winning landscaping at PCL and its roll in reviving the history of the Industrial Past of West Oakland.. The courtyards at Pacific Cannery Lofts in addition to the surrounding and connecting greenways pull together the people living in the various developments that make up the Central Station community This award winning landscape plan was designed and created by Jeff Miller and his team at the Miller Company and has been instrumental in the creation of the new neighborhood. Jeff enjoys designing gardens for individual people but his real interest is in community spaces and issues related to communities. Central Station is a tru example of that.
